Such great food!! My favorite is a chicken smothered burrito!!! Service is always fast and friendly even when it is a busy weekend!

Two stars because I want to be a little nice and because I like Mexican food a lot. I only come here when I'm craving for their smothered burritos nothing more. I was very disappointed about their chimichangas instead of pulled meat it was ground beef and it tasted horrible! I don't know if I was suppose to request it or something but yeah not cool. Overall not sure if I'll try anything else here knowing only one thing taste good out of all things.

The food itself comes in at a solid 4...maybe. Service was good enough. Friendly, but two plates were brought out incorrectly yet we were charged for what we ordered which was more $$ than what we got. Here's the kicker, especially for a "Mexican" spot, they leave the chips on the table!!!! They were next to stale and we were told that's all they have! We sat and I thought for sure the table just wasn't properly bussed, but no! That's the bowls of chips they leave ALL DAY on every able. The overall experience was quite unfortunate. Comparable to Taco Bell, wait no Taco Bell would be better taste at half the cost.

Small combination plates are my go-to! Sadly, this combo plate was okay. I've had a lot better. The portion is very generous but it's nothing too special in flavor. I couldn't even find my tostada at first and when I miraculously did, it was as soft as the rest of my food. Free unlimited chips and salsa were a plus! Service was.. meh. We asked for a little more time and got another 15 minutes. Come on, man! I said a little.

This is average Mexican food at best. Most of the meals here are drowning in sauce and cheese to hide the fact they skimp on the meat. The taste of the food is also average and most likely assembled from pre cooked food as you order. I think they could improve by offering more meat with your order and going with a better quality and less greasy ground beef. This place is ok and not too expensive but nothing to knock your socks off.

La Luna was surprisingly packed on a Saturday evening. We waited over 45 minutes before getting a table. Unfortunately the food was not worth the long wait. My chicken enchiladas were bad enough I sent them back to the kitchen and asked for something else. The chicken was completely flavorless. It didn't seem to have any seasoning whatsoever. The rice and beans were also flavorless. Seriously La Luna, where is the seasoning?! Would not recommend this restaurant. The food was terrible and the service wasn't much better.

The cheese enchilada dish with beans and rice was absolutely delicious. Best I've had in a long time. Service was good. I gave only 4 stars because the older woman who was at the cash register was very short and abrupt. No smile. I even said it was delicious and she didn't look up..no smile just said good...with a grumpy face like we were a bother....anyway I will still recommend because the food was very flavorful and yummy .

Friendly and fast service. The tortilla taste homemade, but the food could be better. The chicken / shrimp fajitas were bland no seasoning. The salsa taste like spicy pizza sauce. The French fries were frozen (kids meal). Cheese was not melted food was cool not warm or hot.

On more than one occasion the hostess has been rude to our dinner and a movie group. You would think she would understand the concept of "customers-the reason I have a job ". So sorry if we put her out. Anyway, last time we went we weren't even acknowledged for at least fifteen minutes after being seated. Finally a nice waiter came and apologized and took our order. Surprisingly, our order came out quickly. The food was bland and just so so to me, but we'll probably go again because some in our group like the place.

The service is always super quick, the food comes amazingly fast, and I've never had a bad dish here. I love the smothered bean and cheese burrito, and the chips and salsa are like crack cocaine. I come here at least once a month to pig out with my gal pals.

Smothered burritos (basically a rolled giant flour tortilla that may have beans in it, covered in a chile verde gravy with bits of pork here and there and completely covered in cheddar cheese). If you've been to La Puente, La Fountain, La Frontera, you've been here. Service here is notably better than any of those 3, though you have to pay at the register before leaving rather than the wait staff bringing it to you. The place is a lot brighter and cleaner also than any of those other 3, but as far as food, there is precious little difference between any of those 3 and I'd include the chips and salsa in that. The refried beans and rice as sides are just kinda there, somewhat bland, but no strong feelings one way or the other. If your thing is smothered burritos and you're in the area, this is a perfectly acceptable version. It is in the Jordan Landings area, so how much you like fighting through that may heavily influence your relative desire to go there.

This place was terrible & tasteless! I will never come back ever. Not only was my food terrible but the staff was cleaning (sweeping and mopping) well I was still eating, come on now it's Saturday night 9:00! it took a long time to get our food. I had a smothered burrito and it was tasteless & not even spicy. I spent $45 on some terrible food and poor customer service.

This is a sad little place. I cannot understand why they are busy. The seat was worn out and the salsa was like ketchup with a little heat. I should have left right then but we were with friends who chose the restaurant. We asked for some beans to go with the chips since the salsa was so poor, it was thin and lacked flavor. We ordered the nacho grande. It is hard to put my finger on what exactly was wrong with the flavor but I think it was the ground beef, which was soupy and soaked the chips. Nachos with soggy chips is not what I was in the mood for. With the many excellent and authentic Mexican venues in the area, we will not be back.
One of the worst Mexican Restaurants I've been to. We had a party of 15, and 3 people sent their food back and left right away to go to another restaurant. I ordered the American Steak with a double side of "Mixed Vegetables"...should say mixed vegetables from a can...Steak was dry, over cooked in some areas, undercooked in other areas.

We walk in, a small build balding man with a goatee and an older woman who looks less inviting than the dentist are standing at the counter. We walk in and they just stare. They say nothing just stare. I finally ask "do we sit wherever?" And he then said no and nudged the woman to take us to our seat. She licks all four fingers to get our menus and our children's menus apart, then takes us to our seat. Whatever Im here for the food. Menu looks decent (besides the spit marks on them) so we order 4 different platters. Food arrives and it is a molten mess of cheese beans and sauce. I dig through to find the fajitas. Bland. Bland. Bland. My wife tries her enchilada and is met by the taste of fresh out-of-the-can enchilada sauce. My kids dig in to their quesadillas and seem ok with them but not the beans or rice. THANK GOD the kids are eating that gets these guys a star. Our waiter was also very good, young guy with an accent but easy to understand and great service, theres the second star. Food was about what you'd expect from la frontera but bland, not the authentic food we hoped for. They did pile it on though, tons if food (doesn't help when you don't want to eat it.) Halfway through our meal they were about 45 mins from closing and they put the chairs upside down all around us, felt like they were saying "get out". There you have it. Hope this helps. We won't be going back.

I like this place. I use it as a substitute when I get my La Puente fix. I still prefer La Puente but love this since I live in Jordan Landing. The weekly lunch specials are great since they offer options rather than daily specials. The only issue I have with La Luna vs its competitors is the chips are always broken. This is the case practically every time I eat there. Otherwise, good eats.

We arrived 35+ minutes before they closed, and had called a day prior to rsvp for a large group. We stated we would be coming in late. They assured us we would have the private room available. When we arrived, they acted as if they knew nothing about our RSVP and told us they didn't want to serve us. Granted our group was 20+ people, the owner treated us horribly. She was rude, short and abrasive. THE LEAST she could have done was to apologize for the inconveniences but they were not comfortable serving a group that large, that late. Understandable. Instead...She acted as if we were lying about the reservations made well in advance in which we stated we would be coming thirty minutes till close. Customer service is key and none of our group will ever support this business again. It was disheartening to be treated so rudely when many of us have dined at this restaurant before. You lost a large amount of customers and I hope your business does not tank because of the lack of customer service and politeness. Support local businesses who treat their customers right, not La Luna.

I like smothered burritos. Are they really authentic Mexican? Eh no... but whatever. They are pretty good here, cheap and filling. So, if I'm in the area and happen to have a hankering for some, La Luna is the place to go.

Just don't bother. Rubio's about 200 feet from you is better. Food bland and horrible waitstaff. Took forever to get order in, order was wrong and fries, for a six year old, had mold on them. Really?! I know you want food before going to the movie...just don't get it here, before or after. Blech!

I had the red chili because the server said it was hotter than the green. He also said that some people couldn't eat it (which in my language means order it)! It was fantastic. Great heat and flavor. If you are a flamehead (no lots of jalapenos on your nachos does not qualify you as such) then this is a good dish for you.

Love the ownership of this restaurant. The place is ALWAYS CLEAN, and the food is ALWAYS HOT!! Don't you love when your food is brought to you and the plate is filled edge to edge and every item on the plate is sizzling :) Try the smothered burritos!!!!

I used to like this place, but it has become more and more like a La Puente and La Frontera type Mexican restaurant. I tend to be a bit suspicious of restaurants that give you salsa that comes from a ketchup container instead of fresh salsa.... And they don't have margaritas! Super minus points for the lack of a full bar (although they do have beer). One star is for the cleanliness/atmosphere of the restaurant, and the other is for the food which was mediocre at best, nothing to write home about. Wait staff was nice, food came out very quickly, but the guy who took our payment (who I think is actually the owner of the place) was a jerk and got pissed off when we asked to split our check (which was just a really simple, single split...). Then he did it incorrectly, so our friend ended up paying for some of our meal. You can definitely get better Mexican food in Salt Lake (El Chihuahua, anyone?), but I guess this place has the benefit of being near a movie theater. 2 stars.

We walked into La Luna and were immediately smacked in the face with the overpowering smell of Pine-Sol. This makes it very difficult to eat and enjoy subtle flavors and nuances. Fortunately, subtlety and nuance are not something to be found at La Luna anyway. This is very Americanized Mexican food. Everything is served in humumgous portions, smothered in (mostly orange/yellow) cheese. There is nothing authentic or imaginative about La Luna. If you are familiar with La Frontera, this is the same deal. Same food. Same setup. It's not my cup of tea and I will not be back.

I could live off of La Luna's Smothered Burritos! It's busy for a reason, and that is the great food. It's one of my favorite places to go for a mexican dish. The servers aren't too bad, sometimes you get a great one, and sometimes you get a semi good one. Either way the food is totally worth it! I've never had a bad quality plate in all the years I've gone here and that is at least more than 5 years. I'm giving them 4 stars because they could improve their servers skills. Give it a try if you're looking for some mouth watering mexican food.

I have never been to La Luna for dinner - only for lunch. It is near my office and offers an extensive menu of reasonably priced options. My biggest problem is that I am a sucker for their chips, salsa, and guacamole (some of the best I have ever tried), so I am usually too full once my actual meal arrives. Their tacos are a little bland and very average. PROS: reasonably priced, quick, chips, salsa, guacamole, Pepsi products (which means they have Mountain Dew) CONS: your clothes will smell like Mexican food for the rest of the day

Hello La Luna, or is it La Puente? La La La... hey that is fun! Anyway, if you have been to La Puente, you have been to La Luna, but there is no Puente in West Jordan... so there you go. The food here is pretty decent, and it is one of my favorite places to eat mexican food, stuff my face, and wish I had a someone to wheel me out in a wheelbarrow. I will usually get the 2 smothered burritos with rice and beans. Hold the extra slab of cheese and onions however! If I have any complaint about this place, and Puente for that matter is #1 the price... always seems too high to me for what you get. (at least what I order) and #2 the temperature of the food. The burritos sometimes seem a little cold to me... I like my mexican food HOT man! Chips and Salsa are always tasty, and the staff here at La Luna is great... Very friendly and very attentive to my always half empty glass of diet coke! Refill rockstars! So that is my take on this mexican food joint... Until next time I eat... Doc

First time in this restaurant, it was strange that you could not smell the mexican food cooking like you do in a Mexican resaurant. We did order and when the food came the beans and rice were cold like they came out of a refrigerator. We did tell the waiter and he offered to re-heat the plate instead of offering a new plate. We just said no and we asked for the check. When I went to the counter I asked for the manager and when I told hin about the cold food he just got defensive instead of listening to what I had to say. I told him with all the bad reports that are on he news about peple getting sick from food poisoning and you are serving food that should be at 140 degrees and is cold. He just interupted me and told me that I do not have to tell him his job and that he knew his job. He went as far as going to the back and bringing rice that he said was warm. I told him again our food was cold . I know that I am speaking for several customers that just leave and do not say anything about this place. It's just a matter of time that this place will be shut down propably by a law suit.

Always come here for the awesome salsa and guacamole! The service we receive here is always excellent. I recommend their chicken chimichanga or fajitas.

I just don't see myself coming back here. Why are the plates SOO hot? They WANT you to burn your hands off until only bone is showing. Oh no, the REAL reason they are so hot is because in order to melt the cheese they just microwave the entire dish since all the beans and rice are made at like 6 AM, or were probably left overs from yesterday. This place is simply sub par. If they didn't sell alcohol then Beto's or Rancherito's would be better in every way imaginable, because at least there I can pee on the bathroom floors without feeling like a slob...

We've gotten takeout twice from La Luna. The first time, it was pretty good. I think I had the small combination that time. So because it wasn't bad that time we put it on our list for going back. This time, I had the chicken fajitas. That was a big mistake. The meat was flavorless, and the flour tortillas tasted like dough. My wife said her hard-shell beef taco tasted "strange". She also called the beans "too runny". I generally give a place three chances if I like it the first time, because sometimes you just order something that they don't do well. I don't know if I'll be able to talk my wife into trying them a third time...and I'm not sure after those fajitas that I want to do so either.

We were seated quickly and got our drinks just as quick. The food was good priced and the service was great until it became time to get our check. I got the Taco salad, it was a little bland and scarce on the sour cream but good none the less.

I echo what everyone else has said. Rude, lazy waiter, relatively high priced, bland food, salsa in a tube, seasoned commercial chips.... but PACKED on a Saturday at lunch hour. We didn't consult yelp and figured it had to be good due to all the people eating there. it wasn't. We laughed at my wife's meal. They must have laid a bed of cheese down first, cuz there was thick, gooey melted cheese under EVERYthing - even under her shredded lettuce/diced tomato garnish. And we're talking mozzarella-style cheddar. The kind that looks and acts like flubber. My meal was covered in the stuff. I started rolling it around my fork, thinking it would eventually break, but after I got about a mouthful on my fork (about 10 rotations), I decided to end the experiment and cut it off. This place should be called El Queso. The food is VERY uninspired and boring. What is it West Jordan? You guys patronize this place in droves, then rate it with 1 - 2 stars. What's up with that? YUCK.

Really yummy Mexican food... I really like the salsa here, and the Guacamole is probably some of the best guacamole I've had in the states. It's pretty reasonably priced, too. :) Probably one of my favorite local places to go get Mexican food. P.S. Try the fried cheesecake sometime... on a not-worried-about-your-diet day... double YUM!

This place wasn't bad but it wasn't delicious. Clean, quick and friendly but they don't offer what I like. Shredded bf or bean chimis. Regaurdless of that,I got a bean burrito enchilada style. It was barely warm. My cheese want melted inside my burrito and not to mention the impolite pig next to me kept belching! Will I come back? Not unless I was invited by a friend whose turn it was to pick. Chips, salsa and guac were great!

This place is always contestant with great dishes. Some days the chili verde is a bit hotter than others, but I can deal. Always busy. They could stand to expand.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I'll give this place one star because the waitress was nice. This food is horrible. The so called ground hamburger melts in your mouth, yuck. Not sure what kind of cow that came from. The combo plate is all refried beans. Bean taco, bean, tostada aka flat bean taco, bean tortilla and a cheese enchilada. Even the cheese tastes funny. The salsa was just a bland tomato purée of some kind. Do yourself a favor and pass on this place.

This is the case practically every time I eat there. Otherwise, good eats.

Bad, slow service and AWFUL food! Dead fly on the bottom of the beer bottle should have given it away.

This restaurant has the worse Mexican food ever. Their menu is not even Mexican food, it is more American than nothing else. Not a good restaurant to go to if you want enjoy real Mexican food!

Great, fast service. Perfect for lunch on workdays.

YUCK.

Chile verde is phenomenal! We're regulars. I get the chIcken chimichangas smothered. Large portions & good, fast service!
